Exhibitor space has sold out and just a few delegate places remain available for the conference-based event on Wednesday 13th May at Stoneleigh Park, reports the Royal Agricultural Society of England which is organising the event in partnership with leading monogastric nutrition business, ABN.

"It's an exciting prospect," says Alice Bell, RASE Technical Events Manager. "Producers, processors, retailers and consumers have all signed up for the event – keen to share their views on major issues including sustainability, global market influences and UK consumer needs."

Meurig Raymond, Deputy President of the NFU, Andrew Saunders of Dalehead Foods and The Grocer's fresh food editor, Michael Barker, are among the panellists confirmed for the event's headline industry debate 'The supply chain LIVE - what's its view?', to be hosted by BBC farming correspondent Adam Henson.

Michael Barker's role at The Grocer covers meat and poultry, eggs, fish, dairy and fresh produce news. He says, "With all the talk about how to keep consumers buying meat during the recession as just one of the current challenges, it's essential that all parts of the supply chain get together and discuss a mutually beneficial approach that can be profitable for everyone. As someone who is passionate about the UK pig and poultry industry, I'm delighted to be taking part and offering my view from a media perspective."

Live interactive voting technology will also be used during the debate to make sure that every participant has the chance to register their opinion and be heard.

Alan Murphy, Managing Director of ABN added, "The range of experience among the debate panellists underlines the whole-chain nature of the event. Everyone involved will have a unique opportunity to understand more about how the supply chain operates and influence its future sustainability."

A networking lunch will follow the debate, before delegates choose from a varied programme of focused technical and business workshops. The latest knowledge and advice will be delivered on topics such as pigmeat marketing, how to grow your business, salmonella control and feed prices.
