A commission was formed on 20 May, reports MENA-FN, to rehabilitate and re-start operations at the Missan Poultry Company, which suspended work four years ago. The statement was made by the director of the Missan agriculture department.

"The commission was formed to operate the five fields of the Missan Poultry Company, which suspended work after suffering huge losses four years ago because of the bird flu in the province," Engineer Tareq Kazem reportedly told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He added that the commission is offering interest-free loans for five years, including three billion Iraqi dinars (US$ 2.6 million) for rehabilitation of the business and a further two billion dinars ($1.7 million) for its operation.
