Print This Page New Case of Bird Flu in India
WEST BENGAL, INDIA - The veterinary authorities have reported one new case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The Indian veterinary authority has sent Follow Up Report No 12 dated 27 May to OIE, reporting one new case of HPAI.
It started in a backyard poultry flock at Hemtabad in West Bengal on 20 May. All 20 affected birds died.
The presence of the H5N1 virus subtype has been confirmed.
