NETHERLANDS - Poultry processing equipment manufacturer, Meyn, is to close its Systemate production plant at Numansdorp by the end of the year with the loss of between 120 and 140 jobs. From next year, the Systemate equipment will be produced at one of Meyn's other production plants in the Netherlands, Poland or the USA.
Meyn said that the closure of the plant will mean redundancies and during the coming months, the restructuring and social plan will be discussed with the trades unions and the works council.
"This adjustment of our manufacturing structure will not affect our clients," said Han van der Broek for Meyn.
"Service and support, including spare parts, will continue to be provided through existing contacts.
"Current projects and tenders will be followed up in the usual way."
