The ultimate meeting place for international top decision makers in the Feed-to-Meat industry will be back at home base in Utrecht, the Netherlands on 20 to 22 April 2010. Already 200 companies have booked a stand and cover 14,500 square metres. Another 5,000 square metres is in option.

This edition VIV Europe will focus on two special themes: Eggs! and Meat Safety. "We have found innovative partners and by bundling our forces, we will put Eggs! and Meat Safety prominently on the map at VIV Europe 2010," said Wendy Voermans, Project manager VIV Europe.

Eggs!

Eggs! was successfully launched as the special theme of VIV Asia 2009, and continues for VIV Europe 2010. The co-operation of innovation partners VIV and Watt Publishing will continue for VIV Europe 2010. At the Eggs! live presentation, conferences and seminars, global producers and buyers learn more about new products, best practices related to egg production, handling and processing.

Meat Safety

VIV and Positive Action Publications take up the challenge to map Meat Safety as a special theme at VIV Europe. Alongside the exhibition a dedicated conference is organised where themes and topics such as safety in meat production and processing will be high on the agenda.

Dedicated co-operations and conferences

In addition to the exhibition and the special themes conferences, there will be a high-quality conference programme covering current trends and technologies and contributes to the visitors' need for additional information. Dedicated co-operations and conferences have been set up with Rabobank during the official opening and Wageningen Business School (part of the Wageningen University and Research Centre).

Prior and during the first exhibition day (on 18-20 April), Wageningen Business School will organise an international postgraduate course in cooperation with the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium (K.U. Leuven) and the World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA). The theme of the course will be 'Nutrition and Climate, new developments'.

At the Opening Conference, Rabobank, the official knowledge partner of VIV Worldwide, will present the latest trends and developments in the animal protein industry.

Content partners

VIV Europe has allied with several industry organisations who bring business related content which will complement the exhibition. The Content partners are:

  • COST - EUREKA (European Cooperation in Science and Technology): one of the longest-running European instruments supporting cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe.
  • European Science Foundation (ESF): an association of 80 member organisations devoted to scientific research in 30 European countries.
  • Dutch Poultry Centre: the innovative centre for poultry. Dutch Poultry Centre is a community of the best Dutch companies associated with poultry production and processing.

Utrecht – VIV city

To maximise convenience for international guests the VIV Europe Hospitality Program, which was successfully launched in 2006, will be extended in 2010. Many special VIV Europe arrangements will be developed within the city of Utrecht.

During the exhibition, Utrecht will turn into VIV city. Expohotels has been appointed as the official Housing and Travel Agency to assist with hotel reservations. Via the VIV Europe web site [click here], you can access their hotel reservation system.

Wendy Voermans said: "VIV Europe 2010 will be the international knowledge platform where industry professionals will find tailor made solutions to their complex business strategies."
