Print This Page New Case of Bird Flu in Bangladesh
BANGLADESH - The veterinary authorities have informed the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about one new outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).
The Bangladeshi veterinary authority sent Follow up Report No. 19 dated 14 July to OIE.
It reports one new case of HPAI at a commercial farm near Chittagong. Fifty birds of a flock of 969 birds were found dead from 21 June. The rest of the flock has been destroyed.
The presence of the H5N1 virus sub-type has been confirmed.
