Enrolment Open for Masters Health Online Course

AUSTRALIA - The first Masters graduates in Avian Health will soon bolster the ranks of the world's avian vets, with the fourth and final unit of Avian Health Online now underway through the University of Melbourne.

According to the Avian Health Online Project Manager, Dr Trevor Bagust, the second Semester for 2009 is now into its third week (of 16), and between Unit 2 (Pathology) and Unit 4 (Public and product safety & Economics), there are some 20 avian veterinarians in 10 countries toiling away at their studies.

Avian Health Online is an interactive online course for veterinarians working in the global poultry industry. Presented by the University of Melbourne, in collaboration with the Poultry Diseases Research Center, University of Georgia, USA, a Postgraduate Certificate in Avian Health can be completed with one-year part-time study (Units 1 and 2), while the Masters in Avian Health and Medicine (MAHM) requires 3 years part-time study (Units 3 and 4).

Applications for Semester 1 2010 must be made by 8 January 2010, and enrolment will then be completed by 26 February in order to commence the Semester on 1 March 2010.
