Print This Page Group Leader Urges State Govt to Promote Eggs
ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA - Komatlapalli Venkatasubba Rao, president of the West Godavari District Poultry Farmers Federation, yesterday appealed to the State government to introduce egg as part of the menu for the mid-day meal under implementation in schools on the lines of Orissa, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.Speaking at a meeting of poultry farmers held here under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh Rytu Sangham, he highlighted the need for promotion of egg consumption by the government. According to The Hindu, he also urged the government to extend subsides for the poultry farmers for export of eggs.
Saying the value added tax on the poultry feed was on a high side, he highlighted the reduce it. He wanted the government to reduce import duty on medicines and vitamins meant for the poultry industry.
