Print This Page US Monthly Egg Products Report - October 2009
US - Shell eggs broken totalled 172 million dozen during August 2009, a fall of five per cent from the same month a year ago, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report in October 2009.
Shell eggs broken totalled 170 million dozen during September 2009, down five per cent from September a year ago, and one per cent below the 172 million broken last month.
Both September 2008 and September 2009 contained 22 weekdays (including one holiday) and four Saturdays.
During calendar year 2009 to September, shell eggs broken totalled 1,502 million dozen, down three per cent from the comparable period in 2008. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2009 was 1,958 million pounds, down three per cent from 2008.
