US - According to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), turkey eggs in incubators went down by seven per cent but one per cent more poults were placed during November than the same month in 2008.

Eggs in incubators on 1 December down seven per cent from last year
Turkey eggs in incubators on 1 December 2009, in the United States totalled 25.8 million, down seven per cent from 1 December 2008. Eggs in incubators were down one per cent from the 1 November 2009 total of 26.0 million eggs.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central down three per cent, West North Central down slightly, North and South Atlantic down 13 per cent, and South Central and West down 19 per cent.
Poults hatched during November down two per cent from last year
Turkey poults hatched during November 2009, in the United States totalled 21.5 million, down two per cent from November 2008. Poults hatched were down two per cent from October 2009 total of 22.0 million poults.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central down seven per cent, West North Central up four per cent, North and South Atlantic down 12 per cent, and South Central and West up 17 per cent.
Net poults placed during November up one per cent from last year
The 21.0 million net poults placed during November 2009 in the United States were up one per cent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Net placements were down one per cent from the October 2009 total of 21.2 million.
