AFIA Names Vice Chair of Feed Regulatory Committee

US - The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) announces the appointment of Kristi Krafka, Kemin AgriFoods' vice president of regulatory affairs, quality assurance and quality control for North America, vice chair of the Feed Regulatory Committee.

Joel Newman, president and CEO of AFIA, said: "We are pleased to have Kristi join the Feed Regulatory Committee. Her leadership in this pivotal position will continue the association’s long history of success in its legislative and regulatory efforts."

The Feed Regulatory Committee monitors the federal and state regulatory agencies, meeting with the FDA and AAFCO to represent the interests of the feed industry on manufacturing practices, labeling requirements, and the uniform feed law. It also maintains a Good Manufacturing Practices subcommittee and liaisons with all segments of the feed industry.

Ms Krafka brings more than 20 years of regulatory affairs experience to the Feed Regulatory Committee. Her role as vice chair began on 1 May 2010 and will continue until her two-year term as chair takes effect on 1 May 2012.
