Rose Poultry has been reported to police by the Veterinary and Food Administration for pumping excessive quantities of water into their chicken, according to Copenhagen Post.

The violation was discovered during routine meat inspections at several supermarkets. Out of 40 packages of Rose chicken tested by inspectors, more than half were found to have more than the allowable concentration of water.

According to Politiken newspaper, 11 per cent of stores and 32 per cent of wholesalers inspected were cited during this most recent wave of control checks for having incorrect or insufficient labelling on their meat packages.
