Former Poultry CRC Chair, Dr Jeff Fairbrother AM, and CEO, Mingan Choct, at the World's Poultry Congress in 2008

Dr Jeff Fairbrother AM served as the first Poultry CRC Chair from 2003 until 2009 and was one of the industry's most respected statesmen for over 40 years. His legacy continues with this CRC scholarship, helping to ensure the country's brightest young minds are given the support and encouragement they need to deliver frontier science crucial for the poultry industry's continued success and sustainability.

Calls for postgraduate (Masters and PhD) scholarships are also underway. In keeping with the Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) Program, scholarships are available for a period of two years for a Masters by research degree or three years, with a possible extension of six months, for a Doctorate by research degree (PhD). Award holders receive an annual stipend and may also be eligible for other allowances. Honours scholarships are one year in duration. The Poultry CRC postgraduate scholarships are tax-free and are valued at A$30,000 per annum. Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Australian Residents and studying at one of the participating universities. Poultry CRC encourages prospective students to either contact us directly or contact potential supervisors at Poultry CRC-participating universities.
