Ag Ministry: Egg Prices Continue 11-Week Rally

CHINA - The prices of eggs continued to grow in the first week of August, according to monitoring results issued by the Ministry of Agriculture yesterday.

The average price of eggs has increased steadily for 11 weeks, up 12 per cent, and the prices in the first week of August stood at 8.4 yuan per kilo, up nearly two per cent, according to the Ministry.

Corn prices have risen by 38 per cent since the end of February 2009.
