Pullorum Disease Found on Four More Farms

JAPAN - Surveillance last month has found birds with Salmonella pullorum on four more farms in Kyoto prefecture.

The veterinary authority has sent Follow up Report no. 3 dated 21 September to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes the discovery of pullorum disease on four new farms in Kyoto prefecture. One or more birds on each farm – 11 birds in total – were affected by pullorum disease, and all 43 birds that tested serologically positive to S. pullorum were destroyed.
