US Monthly Egg Products Report - December 2010

US - Nine per cent more shell eggs were broken during November 2010 than the same month a year earlier, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in its monthly Egg Products report.

Shell eggs broken totalled 165 million dozen during November 2010, up nine per cent from November a year ago, but six per cent below the 175 million broken last month.

During calendar year 2010 through November, shell eggs broken totalled 1,896 million dozen, up four per cent from the comparable period in 2009.

To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2010 was 2,456 million pounds, up three per cent from 2009.

November 2010 contained 22 weekdays (including two holidays) and four Saturdays, while November 2009 contained 21 weekdays (including two holidays) and four Saturdays.
