IPC Returns to Rome for Spring Meeting
ITALY - Poultry organisation representatives from around the world will meet jointly with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN when the International Poultry Council (IPC) returns to Rome for its 2011 spring meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 April at the Abitart hotel in the Ostiense Quarter of the city.
Members of the IPC will also engage in a discussion of various global poultry issues with FAO officials during the meeting at FAO headquarters. Last year, the FAO signed an Memo of Uunderstanding (MOU) with the IPC recognising the organisation as the official body representing the global industry. The IPC also has received similar recognition by the Codex Alimentarius Commission and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
Among the featured speakers confirmed for the meeting are Rabobank economist, Nan-Dirk Mulder; Lars Hoelgaard, assistant director general of the European Commission; Dr Michael Doyle of the University of Georgia; and Richard Bird of the Cherry Valley duck company.
Host organisation for the meeting is Unione Nazionale de Avicultoras (UNA), the Italian poultry association.
Members of the respective IPC member countries will also give status updates of the poultry industries in their home countries.
More than 20 countries are represented in the IPC's membership.
