29 New HPAI Outbreaks Across Five Regions
BANGLADESH - The Bangladeshi veterinary authorities have reported 29 new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in various commercial farms across Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barisal and Khulna.The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 30 dated on Sunday, 6 March.
A total of 82,712 chickens showed signs of susceptibility to the disease, out of which 12,573 cases were identified. A 100 per cent fatality rate was recorded. The remaining 70,139 birds were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
