The Antimonopoly Committee has obliged 40 Ukrainian poultry farms to refrain from increase of egg prices during the Easter holidays, the committee said.

According to Ukrainian News Agency, the report said that over last 10 days of March, the cost of eggs rose in most of regions.

Producing enterprises explain those price hikes with increase in expenses for feed on the domestic market.

The committee has found out that for the period January to March, average prices for feed crops, sunflower and soybean meal and poultry feed did not change considerably so the Committee concluded that there were not economic grounds to raise the prices.

The 10 poultry farms are the following: Avangard holding (Ivano-Frankivsk region), Boryspil Agro Trade (Kyiv region), Inter Zaporizhia, Kyiv poultry farm, Berezanska agricultural company (Kyiv region), Ternopil Poultry Farm, Otradivska Poultry Farm (Odesa region), Kominterna Poultry Farm (Odesa region), Jrupets Poultry Farm (Rivne region) and Lysychansk Poultry Farm (Luhansk region).

Market dealers should assist in signing direct contracts on egg sales with retailers.

Ukrainian News previously reported that the Antimonopoly Committee recommends that participants of the food market refrain from unfounded increase of prices before Easter.
