The event focused on the influences of hatchery and parent stock management as well as feeding programmes on Cobb 500 broiler performance today.

Guest presenter was Ron Meijerhof, hatchery expert from Poultry Performance Plus, who spoke about the simple changes in incubation that can make a positive difference to broiler performance, particularly using the optimum incubation time for each breed.

The team from Cobb Europe covered many other aspects, with Wout van Wolkswinkel, sales manager for Western Europe, giving an introduction to the World of Cobb, showing how the Cobb 500 is gaining market share in the European, Middle East and African region and across the rest of the world.

Martijn Gruyters, technical service manager, gave his views on broiler management and the impact of different parent stock age on broiler performance, particularly comparing young with prime age parent stock.

Account manager, Paul Welten, presented information from the many broiler trials carried out across Europe and showed how that knowledge was helping in determining growth curves for the product.

Euan Meldrum, marketing manager for Cobb Europe, said: "We were delighted to see so much support from the major influencers in the Dutch and Belgium markets. This clearly shows the growing confidence we are seeing in the Cobb 500 in these markets."
