The Ukrainian market will be 100 per cent supplied with quality poultry by late 2011,says Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, reports Interfax.

"Today, we are coming to a conclusion that we have at last succeeded in bringing this industry [poultry production] to a high level of competitiveness, and the Ukrainian market will be 100 per cent supplied with quality poultry by the end of 2011," he told journalists in the village of Havrylivka in Kiev region, when visiting the Agromars poultry production complex.

The president said that, at present, the market is 82 to 84 per cent supplied with such products.

In addition, President Yanukovych forecast that next year Ukraine would be able to export five to 10 times more poultry.

"We need to expand our consumer markets," he said.

According to President Yanukovych, Ukraine should adopt European standards in the poultry industry, so that the country could in the second half of this year gain all of the quality certificates needed to open the way for the export of Ukrainian products.
