Cargill has announced a $12.5 million expansion of its Mason City, Iowa facility, which will result in an expected increase of 20 jobs once it is completed. About $2 million of the expansion investment will be spent with local suppliers and contractors during the construction phase.

Troy Swanson, Mason City Plant Manager for Cargill Kitchen Solutions, commented: "We have a tremendous work-force in Mason City, and we are very pleased to invest additional resources in the community. As we made final expansion decisions, we appreciated the support of the North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation, as well as local and state officials."

Work on the expansion will begin this summer and the expansion will be fully operational by Spring 2012.
