Pelayo Casanovas, sales and technical director of Cobb Europe, said: "We are pleased to have Annsofie joining Cobb. She brings considerable commercial experience to strengthen our team and to advise our customers on the best way to feed our birds – especially important with the ongoing rise in feed costs."

Dr Wahlström gained a masters degree in animal science from SLU, the Swedish University of Agriculture, and then a PhD in 1999, studying diet and hybrid interactions in large groups of laying hens.

Then she spent three years as pet food nutritionist at Doggy where she worked on dog and cat food and was also responsible for research.

Dr Wahlström was a speaker at the recent World Poultry 2011 conference in Brussels, presenting a paper on supplying the food-service industry.
