It was constructed as part of Cherkizovo's capacity increase project at the Bryansk poultry cluster and will enable 43 million eggs to be incubated per year. After the launch of the second new line, due later this year, total annual capacity of the hatchery will be 66 million eggs. The total investment in constructing the hatchery is approximately US$16 million (RUB460 million).

As part of the Bryansk capacity increase project, Cherkizovo previously launched a poultry breeding facility, which consists of 52 bird houses and 11 additional bird houses at the existing poultry breeding facilities.

In 2010, the Bryansk poultry cluster had a capacity of 38,200 tonnes of live weight poultry meat; the completion of this project in 2012 will see that rise to 75,000 tonnes.

Sergey Mikhailov, CEO of Cherkizovo Group, commented: "I am pleased to announce the launch of the hatchery – one of the most important developments we are undertaking as part of the capacity increase project at our Bryansk cluster. Having our own incubation facilities will significantly decrease costs, while offering our customers high-quality products at fair prices.

"We also started construction of a new state-of-the-art feed factory with an hourly capacity of 40 tonnes and storage capacity of 56,000 tonnes and a new large poultry facility. We are pleased with progress made in the capacity increase project and are confident that the project will enable us to increase our efficiency and strengthen results in our Poultry division."
