The French producer of poultry has increased its losses in the first half of 2011 in a "difficult" period, with a net loss after minority interests of €1.91 million, despite net revenue growth to €90.13 million (+13.4 per cent), according to LSA.

The net loss by one of Europe's leading producers of certified poultry compared with a loss of €380,000 in the first half of 2010, during which it had benefited from the added value generated by the closing of Cobral.

First-half sales at Duc were up to €90.13 million against €79.49 million a year earlier and €81.32 million in the second half of 2010, Duc reported in its financial statement.

The poultry business, which was described as operating "in an extremely difficult market environment" recorded an operating loss of €1.55 million in the first half of this year, compared to a loss of €1.4 million in the same period of 2010.
