“Tried and Tested” is the best description for the Pericoli centrifugal shutter mechanism which has now been released for general distribution following in excess of 10 years of limited application and restricted to a few OEM branded fans.

The EWS centrifugal mechanism utilises the rotation of the propeller blades to activate a bearing/shaft combination to open and close the shutters on the discharge side of the fan. This patented device results in all the effort and stress being discharged directly to the bear and not to and through the shaft. This design has created a more simple and robust unit with fewer wearing components. The company has also utilised highly engineered polymers (Tech speech for fancy plastic combinations) comprising of a combination of PA6 with Nylon – for flexibility and fiberglass for strength, to ensure long service free operation.

A distinct advantage of the Pericoli EWS centrifugal system is that the shutters are fully opened at only 10 per cent of the fans operational capacity, a major factor in variable controlled fan systems. In addition the shutters have a gentler and controlled closing action.

With immediate effect the full range of Pericoli exhaust fans can now be ordered with the EWS centrifugal mechanism plus a conversion/adaptor kit is also available to convert existing EOS fans to the EWS system.
