Four New Newcastle Disease Outbreaks

ISRAEL - The Israeli veterinary authorities have reported four new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in Hazafon, Hadarom and Hamerkaz.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 5 on Monday, 26 December. The affected population consist of 5-week-old broilers in Hazafon, 3-week-old broilers in Hadarom and Hamerkaz and 36-week-old broiler breeders in Hadarom.

According to the report, 382200 broilers showed signs of susceptibility, out of which approximately 12500 cases were reported. 11800 deaths were recorded and 45300 were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
