December 2011 Retail Animal Feed Production Down

UK - The total production of animal feed during December 2011 was lower than in December 2010 by 3.5 per cent.

According to GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice for December 2011, the total raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed in December 2011 was 2.9 per cent lower compared to the same month the previous year.

In December 2011, the total integrated feed production was 6.5 per cent lower compared with December 2010.

From July to September 2011, the quarterly average feed prices for cattle and calves was £222 per tonne, pigs was £256 per tonne, poultry was £278 per tonne and for sheep was £217 per tonne.
