Salmonella in Imported Chicken

KUWAIT - A member of the Municipal Council, Jenan Bushahri, has revealed that a consignment of frozen chicken which was imported into the country through the Shuwaikh Port was unfit for human consumption, reports Annahar daily.

According to Arab Times, she added the sample of chicken which was sent to the Ministry of Health laboratory proved the chicken contained bacteria called salmonella.

She wants to know what measures have been taken by the Imported Foods Department to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in future.

She went on to say the phenomenon of the spread of spoiled foods has worried consumers who are health conscious.
