PAAFR Bans Poultry, Eggs from Sri Lanka, Australia
KUWAIT - The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAFR) announced the prohibition of all poultry, eggs, and chicks from Sri Lanka due to the emergence of bird-flu cases in that country. According to Kuwait Times, in a press statement, PAAFR also affirmed the prohibition of importing poultry, eggs, and chicks from Australia due to reports, issued by World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), which revealed the emergence of the same pandemic.
On the other hand, the statement pointed out that PAAFR decided to lift the prohibition on importing falcons, ornamental birds, eggs, and chicks from the Netherlands in accordance with WOAH reports that affirmed the country’s status as disease-free.
