Cobb Officially Opens New Asian Office in Thailand

THAILAND - The new Cobb office for the Asian region in Bangkok, Thailand, has been officially opened by the company’s president Jerry Moye. The ceremony and dinner was attended by the whole Cobb Asia team, executives from the USA and senior managers from Thailand based companies CP Foods, GFPT, Saha Farms and Betagro.

The office would enhance Cobb’s presence in Asia — the fastest growing market for Cobb broiler breeding stock — he told guests at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The new office will provide the foundation for our enlarged team to build on our markets across the region,” said Jerry Moye. “Our people are our most valuable asset and none more so in this region than Mark Glavey who has done such a fantastic job for over 40 years. This latest development is in part fulfilment of his efforts over time.”

Growth of the Cobb business has accelerated throughout South East Asia since the first grandparent operations with Saha Farms and particularly the acquisition of Avian Farms in 2000.

“We are seeing a huge increase in demand for the Cobb broiler which has always enjoyed a good reputation in the region,” said Mr Moye. “There are now a lot of opportunities for us in countries like Indonesia and Viet Nam as well as China.”

Duncan Granshaw, who was appointed Cobb general manager for Asia in 2010, said that Thailand was very central to the company’s activities in the region that stretches from Pakistan to Korea and Japan, north through China and south to Australia and New Zealand.

“The communications and the airport are very good. It’s a good central location and will be easily accessible for our whole team. We will now be able to respond even more quickly to our customers’ requests for sales and technical support in this rapidly growing market,” said Mr Granshaw.
