Brazil Hosts 24th World Poultry Congress

BRAZIL - Brazil will host the World Poultry Congress (WPC 2012), which is considered the most important global eventof the industry. It is organized every four years by the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) and this will be its 24th edition.

More than 9,000 visitors and 4,000 participants of all continents are expected and will discuss the poultry meat and egg production chain. The WPC 2012 will be held on 5-9 August 2012, in the Convention Center of Bahia, in Salvador, Brazil.

The program includes lectures by renowned researches and a fair with the participation of hundreds of companies that will show what is new in the market in terms of technology. The president of FACTA (APINCO Foundation of Poultry Science and Technology) and also representative of WPSA Brazil, Dr Edir Nepomuceno da Silva, says that this is a unique opportunity for students and professionals that aim at continuous learning in their fields.

WPC 2012 will also celebrate the centennial of WPSA, which aim is stimulating and disseminating the development and the creation of technologies applied in all aspects of animal science, in addition as being the link between research and the different industry segments of the poultry meat and egg industry. Several activities are being prepared by the organization, and this should attract members of all countries where WPSA is present.

WPC 2012 is organized by WPSA Brasil (Brazilian branch of the WPSA) and co-organized by FACTA (APINCO Foundation of Poultry Science and Technology) in partnership with UBABEF (Brazilian Association of Poultry Producers. Registrations and information are available at the website.
