The Hubbard Classic is renowned for its ease of management and outstanding day-old-chick production at breeder level - recent records show that it is possible to reach up to 158 chicks at 65 weeks of age - and a broiler recognised as one the fastest growing strains available in the market today, making it a combination which is difficult to beat. Indonesia is one of the major broiler markets in South East Asia and has, with a population of around 240 million people, a tremendous opportunity for further development of its poultry meat sector. In 2010 around 1,226 million day-old-chick production were produced and between 2000 and 2010 the poultry meat consumption has grown with 5.5 per cent per annum from 2.3 to 3.9 kg per capita.
