China, where Arbor Acres Plus has over 50 per cent market share was well represented with a large group of 22 customers at the meeting.

The presentations give the attending Arbor Acres customers a chance to compare performance, business strategy and gain further insight into some of the important global market trends and product performance efficiencies that are likely to have impact on their businesses and the Asian region.

“This is my first time at Arbor Acres Asia Association Meeting which I feel is a very fruitful meeting. We all get together and exchange new ideas and share performance among the Arbor Acres customers. We also most importantly, get the chance to network with other customers and get to know them better. I wish Arbor Acres continued success in improving the product quality to meet global customer demand," comments Jakkrin Taepaisitpong, Senior vice president, Betagro, Thailand.

The meeting opened with an update on the company and how the Arbor Acres product was performing in the world market and was followed by a detailed review of genetic performance in Asia and the global markets together with future development trends for Arbor Acres Plus. Two important presentations, one on the future prospects for grain and poultry in the Pacific Rim and the other on the Brazilian industry were intermingled with customer presentations from Betagro, Quality Poultry Breeders, Beijing Arbor Acres Poultry Breeding Company and Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), Thailand. The program also addressed global disease challenges and closed with an important review of customer service within the region.

“This was another great Arbor Acres Asia Association meeting. We had an outstanding turnout of our distributors and customers and the mix of speakers and subjects made for stimulating discussions. Once again we have found that this meeting maximizes our efforts in exchanging valuable new ideas between our customers and increasing Arbor Acres business prospects for the future,” added Neal Scanlon, Vice President, Arbor Acres Asia.

There were several opportunities for customers to spend time together and enjoy the city and the occasion. A visit to Alcatraz with a tour of the old high security prison was a major attraction on Friday afternoon along with a tour to the redwoods in Muir Woods on Saturday, before departure the next day.

Mr Downgmanu Leelavanich, Senior Vice President, CPF, Thailand who also addressed the group commented that he was interested and appreciated both the broad economic and individual business presentations that were given during the meeting. He also complimented San Francisco as a particularly enjoyable city and location for the meeting.

“You always look forward to the lectures on future genetic progress, industry developments and to get the chance to hear the global economic viewpoints on important inputs like grain and energy,” states Dr Hassan Sarosh Akram, Technical Director, Quality Poultry Breeders, Pakistan. “The hospitality and the opportunity to meet up with past acquaintances within the company and the Arbor Acres customer group is always enjoyable.”
