Unlocking Home–Grown Feed Proteins

UK - A key element of animal feed is protein and much of the world’s animal diets include soya.
Often imported from Brazil, there are many concerns about soya production and its environmental impact.
FAI is taking part in trials to evaluate home grown proteins for poultry and pig diets. This season spring beans and peas are being tried, but the project will also look into the opportunities for algae.
The project is funded by the EU Commission and FAI will be working with 15 other research bodies across the continent.
