Egg Exports Up 60 Per Cent

BRAZIL - The Brazilian Poultry Union (Ubabef, in the Portuguese acronym) announced that egg exports fetched revenues of US$ 19.6 million in the first five months of 2012, an increase of nearly 60 per cent compared with the same period of last year.

According to Brazil-Arab News Agency, a total of 12,431 tonnes of raw eggs were shipped, up 113 per cent compared with the same period of 2011.

Processed egg exports reached 441 tonnes, down 60 per cent using the same basis of comparison.
