Poultry Sector Generates Employment for 1.5M
04 July 2012PAKISTAN - The poultry sector is generating direct and indirect employment oppurtunites for about 1.5 million people in the country.
Talking to APP, an official of Statistic Division said the poultry sector was one of the most organized and vibrant segments of the agriculture industry of the country.
According to The Nation, he said its contribution in agriculture and livestock was 6.4 per cent and 11.5 per cent respectively, adding that poultry meat contributes 25.8 per cent of the total meat production in the country.
