Oman Bans Poultry Products from India

OMAN - Oman has banned import of poultry products, including eggs, from India following reports of avian influenza virus outbreak, according to P. Nallathambi, president of India's Tamil Nadu Poultry Farmers Association (TNPFA).

The ban came into effect from Sunday (4th November), after some cases of bird flu were reported from Bangalore in India, reports the Times of Oman.

Many companies import poultry products and source eggs from India, but say that the market will not see a shortfall as they have contracts to import eggs from other countries.
