More than 120 participants took part including some from former Soviet countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, in an event covering hatchery, rearing, brooding, nutrition and parent stock management presented by speakers from the Cobb World Technical Support Team.

Cobb Europe general manager, Roy Mutimer, opened the seminar, and among the speakers was sales and technical director Pelayo Casanovas, who spoke of the combination of a good breeder delivering a high number of chicks through good hatchability, a good broiler not needing expensive feed and a high yield in the processing plant giving Russian customers the potential to maximize their profits.

He said the growing strength of Cobb in the Russian market was demonstrated by building up a market share of 25 per cent in only a few years.

One of the delegates, Ivan Shedrov from the company Chicken Kingdom, stated: “The combination of excellent technical service with a robust breeder and broiler will give us the maximum profit. I am convinced Cobb will be market leader in Russia in the near future”

Roy Mutimer gave special thanks to the Russian team who organized the biennial event led by Patrick van Trijp. Irina Likhacheva, Nikita Golovlev, Galina Bukrineva, Irina Khamatshina and Lidia Malakheeva.
