Amalina, Indian Firm Agree over Poultry Imports

MALAYSIA & INDIA - Amalina Holding Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with India's Misha Exports Pvt Ltd on the appointment of exclusive distributorship of meat, poultry, milk, eggs and products in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Amalina aims to record an earning of US$100 million a year, reports Bernama.com.

The halal frozen meat market in Malaysia is worth about US$300 million with a volume of 90,000 metric tonnes a year.

"The meat is for the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia," said managing director, Ramlan Abd Majid, after the signing of the MoU.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Malaysian High Commissioner to India, Datuk Tan Seng Sung witnessed the signing ceremony.
