UBRA vice president Elias Jose Inciong said the BOI directors failed to consult with the Department of Agriculture and stakeholders before approving the investment of the Thai company.

The case will be filed before the Ombudsman, he added.

According to ABS-CBN News.com, Charoen Pokphand Foods, which was allowed to operate in the country through a P2-billion agricultural project, was given a tax holiday and duty free importation of raw materials by the Trade Department's BOI.

After such has worried local poultry raisers and other stakeholders, a House Committee on Agriculture and Food tackled the issue and resolved to demand the BOI to suspend the grant of tax incentives to the Thai firm.

But the BOI has already previously said there is nothing irregular with the granting of the tax incentives.
