Chicken Linked to Multi-State Salmonella Outbreak
US - Chicken consumption has been identified as the most likely source of infection in a Salmonella outbreak affecting more than 120 people in 13 states.

By: Since 4 June 2012, a total of 128 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Heidelberg have been reported from 13 states, according to CDC.
No deaths have been reported so far but 31 per cent of ill persons have been admitted to hospital.
CDC reports that information available to date indicates that consumption of chicken is the most likely source of infection for many of the ill persons. Oregon and Washington have identified Foster Farms brand chicken as the most likely source of the infections in their states.
