CPF Studies Carbon Footprint

14 March 2013

THAILAND - Charoen Pokphand Group, which includes Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), has initiated a project to assess the carbon footprint of its products.

CPF has kicked off a carbon footprint project and various measures to manage greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption, according to The Nation of Thailand.

CPF and its parent, Charoen Pokphand Group, produce 133 items for domestic and international markets.

Kularb Kimsri, assistant vice president of CPF's global standard system centre, told the newspaper that the project is among CPF's undertakings on environmental management and conservation of natural resources.

He told The Nation: "CPF has developed its own internal resource including employees who have now achieved TGO certification as carbon footprint auditors, and advanced life cycle assessment software that allows the transparent, accurate and reliable calculation of greenhouse gas emissions which can be audited."
