Newcastle Disease Outbreak in East Kazakhstan

KAZAKHSTAN - The country's concerned veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of Newcastle disease in East Kazakhstan.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received an immediate notification on 30 April. The report states that drooling, cyanosis and increased body temperature were observed in the affected birds.

A total of 31 cases and deaths were reported. 48 birds were destroyed as well.

Contact with wild bird species has been noted as the cause of the outbreak.
