Moy Park was awarded the Big Tick and Rural Action Award for the company’s efforts in developing youth employment in rural areas and helping rural communities maintain a sustainable economy.

“We are delighted to have received a Responsible Business Award and UK Big Tick for our achievements in corporate responsibility,” said Brian Moreland, Moy Park Corporate Responsibility Manager.

“Moy Park will now go forward to the national stage of the awards as one of four finalists in the Rural Action category. As a business, we are committed to acting responsibly and believe it is crucial to support young people who have an interest in working in the agri food sector. The judges recognised our ongoing work with Young Enterprise, the Prince’s Trust Food Leadership Group and the Moy Park Academy, which helps young people develop skills and fosters talent in the industry.

“Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards are the UK’s longest-running and most respected corporate responsibility awards. It is an honour to be recognised amongst the best in the UK for our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference and tackling social and environmental issues. We look forward to building on this achievement as we continue to focus on implementing sustainable business practises across the company and working in partnership with like-minded organisations to benefit local communities,” he added.

Kieran Harding, Managing Director, Business in the Community Northern Ireland, said: “Our national Responsible Business Awards are the most credible and influential awards celebrating responsible business in action. They look behind the headlines for hard evidence of positive impact. Achieving the required standard is not easy, so Moy Park’s achievement is incredible.”
