According to Bernama.com, Johor Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Mohamad Ismail Mohamad said the assurance was given by the association chairman, Tan Tuan Cheng, at a meeting in Johor Baharu on Friday (12 July).

Mr Mohamad told reporters after presenting Aidilfitri aid to the poor in the Serampang state constituency in Ledang: "During the meeting, I was told that livestock farmers are having problems with the growth of their chicken.

"Normally, they can sell their chicken when it reaches a certain weight after 45 days, but now it takes longer for the birds to reach the desired weight to be sold."

This, he said, caused the farmers to suffer losses, but they would not increase the farm price of the chicken.
