Commodity expert Aditya Mishra told The Hindu Business Line that currently, soyameal is playing a key role in prices of ingredients.

However, trade experts are expecting some correction in soyameal in the coming weeks but if it doesn’t happen and move further up, feed prices may turn dearer, he said.

Soyameal prices have increased by Rs 2,500 a tonne over the last one week.

In the physical market, soya meal went up by Rs 700 and sold at Rs 32,900 a tonne.

Bajra dropped by Rs 20 to Rs 1,260 a quintal, while di-calcium phosphate sold at Rs 34.70 a kg. MBM ruled flat and sold at 33 a kg and maize eased by Rs 10 to Rs 1,460-1,510. Mustard de-oiled cake remained unchanged and sold at Rs 14,000 a tonne, DRB moved down by Rs 300 to Rs 10,500 a tonne while rice bran oil was at 54 a kg.

Broiler concentrate feed quoted at Rs 1,970 for a 50-kg bag while broiler starter mash sold at Rs 1,480.

Pre-lay mash sold at Rs 1,015, while layer grower mash quoted at Rs 955.

Layer concentrate 25 per cent sold at Rs 1,465 bag while layer concentrate 35 per cent was at Rs 1,150.

Broiler finisher sold at Rs 1,460.

Meanwhile, poultry products prices improved marginally on buying interest on Wednesday.

Broiler went up by Rs 8 and quoted at Rs 85-87 a kg.

Egg improved by 12 paisa and sold at Rs 3, while chick went for Rs 22, Rs 2 up from previous levels.
