Newcastle Disease Outbreak Reported in Cyprus

CYPRUS - The Cypriot veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of Newcastle disease in Larnaca, affecting broilers and laying hens.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 6 on Wednesday, 6 November.

According to the report, a total of 27 birds were found susceptible, out of which ten cases were reported. During the inspection, the backyard holding population consisted of 18 broilers and 9 laying hens.

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
