Poultry Feed Seen Ruling at Current Levels

INDIA - With prices of soyameal and a few other key ingredients ruling higher, prices of poultry feed products increased on Wednesday.

The uptrend was anticipated as prices of key ingredients have increased rapidly over the last few days, said Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert, to The Hindu Business Line.

A sudden increase in soyameal prices last weekend mainly pushed up feed prices, he said. Traders expect that feed prices may continue to rule around current levels over the next few days.

In the physical market, after witnessing a rally last weekend, soyameal has been ruling firm. It is currently selling at Rs 35,800 a tonne, while bajra was at Rs 12,600 a quintal.

Di-calcium phosphate went up by Rs 1.10 to Rs 34.80 a kg, MBM moved up by Re 1 to Rs 31.50 a kg while maize improved by Rs 30 to Rs 1,520 a quintal.

Rice bran oil was at Rs 60 a kg, DRB eased by Rs 500 to Rs 8,300, while mustard de-oiled cake improved by Rs 200 to Rs 15,000 a tonne.

Broiler concentrate quoted went up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,010 for a 50-kg bag while Broiler Starter Mash sold at Rs 1,550.

Pre-lay mash moved up by Rs 15 and sold at Rs 1,040.

Layer concentrate 25 per cent and Layer concentrate 35 per cent improved by Rs 15 each to Rs 1,480 and at Rs 1,165, respectively.

Meanwhile, a positive trend was witnessed in the poultry products market on Wednesday.

Broiler improved by Rs 2 and quoted at Rs 70 a kg, egg was up 15 paise and quoted at Rs 3.90, while chick went for Rs 24, Rs 2 up.
