Poultry Feed Prices May Rule Unchanged for Next Few Days

INDIA - Poultry feed prices ruled unchanged on Saturday (23 November) as rates of key ingredients were volatile.

Commodity expert Aditya Mishra told The Hindu Business Line that despite some recovery in soyameal prices and a few other ingredients, prices of poultry-feed products were unchanged.

“We are waiting for prices to stabilise and feed products may continue to rule without alteration for the next few days,” he said.

Demand for feed products is expected to increase next month, while the demand for poultry products has started to improve, said Mishra.

In the physical market, soyameal improved by Rs 1,000 to Rs 35,700 a tonne, while bajra improved by Rs 100 to Rs 12,800 a quintal. Di-calcium phosphate sold at Rs 34.80 a kg, MBM moved up by Re 1 to Rs 32.50 a kg, while maize was unchanged at Rs 1,490 a quintal.

Rice bran oil was at Rs 65 a kg, DRB eased by Rs 300 and sold at Rs 8,100, while mustard de-oiled cake moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 15,100 a tonne.

Broiler concentrate quoted at Rs 2,010 for a 50-kg bag while broiler, starter mash sold at Rs 1,550 for a 50-kg bag.

Pre-lay mash sold at Rs 1,040 for a 50-kg bag. “Layer concentrate 25 per cent” was at Rs 1,480 for a 50-kg bag while “Layer concentrate 35 per cent” sold at Rs 1,165 for a 50-kg bag.

An uptrend was witnessed in the poultry products market on Saturday following rising domestic demand. Broiler improved by Rs 6 and quoted at Rs 66 a kg, egg went up by 27 paisa to Rs 4.12, while chick went for Rs 22-23, up Re 1.
